IISD at the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2020
IISD will be taking part in the annual Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), being held this year from January 16-18, 2020, in Berlin, Germany, under the theme “Food for all! Trade for Secure, Diverse and Sustainable Nutrition.”
The three-day event includes an informal meeting of agricultural ministers on January 18, as well as a series of high-level panels, expert panel discussions, and other sessions.
Carin Smaller, IISD’s Director of Agriculture, Trade and Investment, will be moderating an expert panel discussion during the GFFA on Friday January 17, 2020, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM CET in Hall 1 of the CityCube Berlin. The expert panel is entitled “Free and Fair Agriculture Trade in and with Africa: The Role of the AfCFTA for Food Security.”
The expert panel organisers are the German-African Business Association, the German Agribusiness Alliance, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the World Bank Group.
